Our Mission , Vision & History

Mission

To promote unity, brotherhood, and cooperation among members.

To promote fellowship among all members through social, civic, cultural, and education activities in order to preserve the cultural heritage of the Bicol Region and contribute to the multicultural society in Canada.

To promote and develop activities where the youth can express their artistic and intellectual capabilities and become worthy member of the society.

To encourage members to seek help whenever their human rights are violated, and human dignity is affected.

To promote friendly relations with other ethnic groups for goodwill, respect, and understanding in order to have a peaceful and settled life in Canada.

To devise ways and means to raise funds in order to carry out the purpose of the association.

Vision

Unite Bikolanos in British Columbia through an inclusive and cohesive community that will help preserve and proudly showcase their cultural heritage, advocate for the rights of its members, and enrich their lives through educational, social, and civic-oriented activities where Members become dynamic contributors and partners across multicultural diversities in the Canadian Society.

History

The Bicolanos in Greater Vancouver have along found a need for an association of their own to enable them to get together socially, provide service to folks back home and nurture their deeply religious upbringing.

When Bishop Jose Sorra of the Diocese of Virac visited Vancouver in 1983 and spoke at a fund raising dinner attended by local Bicolanos to help support some worthy projects in that diocese, he exhorted those present to organize an association for Bicolanos similar to those ones already existing in the United States.
